Between Sangli, Miraj and Ichalkaranji there is an unusual concentration of health science education — pharmacy colleges, nursing schools, and Miraj's long history as a medical centre going back to the Wanless Hospital and the medical campus that grew around it. Every June that produces hundreds of B.Pharm, B.Sc, GNM and nursing graduates.
And every June most of them discover the same thing. The local options are a medical representative role, a retail pharmacy counter, or a hospital job that pays less than the degree cost. Sangli's economy is turmeric, grapes, sugar and textiles. It is not going to absorb a life science graduate at a life science salary.
Medical coding is one of the few genuine alternatives that does not require another two-year degree. Three months of training, an international certification, and you are competing for jobs at companies that hire hundreds of coders a year.
How Sangli students train with us
Kolhapur is roughly fifty kilometres away — an hour on the Sangli–Kolhapur road, with buses running constantly. That makes the weekend classroom batch the most popular choice by a distance: one trip, Saturday and Sunday, and you get the full in-person experience without touching your weekdays.
If even that is difficult — and for students in Miraj or out towards Tasgaon and Vita it sometimes is — the live online batch covers exactly the same syllabus with the same trainer. Sessions are recorded, so a missed class is not a lost class.

- Sangli city and Miraj — weekend classroom batch in Kolhapur is usually the best value for the effort
- Ichalkaranji — close enough at about 28 km to Kolhapur that weekday evening batches work well
- Tasgaon, Vita, Islampur and beyond — live online, with occasional visits for mock exams if you want them
- Already working in a Miraj hospital or lab — evening online sessions fit around a hospital shift
Placement for Sangli district students
The nearest large coding employers are in Pune, about five hours by road, with Mumbai and Bengaluru next. Our Sangli students have joined GeBBS Healthcare, IKS Health, Cotiviti, Omega Healthcare and Vee Healthtek. Pune is the usual first move — an overnight bus home whenever you want one.
Students with a Miraj hospital background often do particularly well in the interviews for inpatient and facility coding roles, because they have actually seen the documentation the codes come from. If that is you, the CCS route is worth a conversation.

Sangli questions
Do I have to travel to Kolhapur for the medical coding class?
Not necessarily. Sangli and Miraj students who want classroom teaching take the weekend batch, which is one trip a week. If you would rather not travel at all, the live online batch is the same course with the same trainer and the same mock exams, attended from home.
Is there a medical coding class in Sangli itself?
Our classroom is in Rajarampuri, Kolhapur, about an hour from Sangli. We deliberately serve Sangli district through the weekend and online batches rather than running a thin second centre — one well-staffed classroom with practising coders as faculty is worth more to you than a nearer room with a part-time trainer.
I am from Ichalkaranji. Which batch should I take?
Ichalkaranji is only about 28 km from our classroom, so weekday evening batches work well and plenty of Ichalkaranji students commute daily. The weekend batch is also an option if your weekdays are committed.
