Belgaum's problem is not the education. It is what comes after.
Belagavi is a genuine medical education hub. Between the KLE campus, its medical and pharmacy colleges, Maratha Mandal's institutions and the nursing and physiotherapy colleges across the district, the city turns out a volume of health science graduates that would suit a much larger metro.
It does not have a matching healthcare services industry. The large medical coding and revenue cycle employers are in Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. So most Belgaum graduates either compete for a limited number of local clinical jobs, or move to Bengaluru without a specific qualification the market is asking for.
A CPC or CCS certification changes the second option considerably. Instead of arriving in Bengaluru hoping, you arrive with the exact credential the job postings name.
Training from Belgaum
Kolhapur is about 110 kilometres up the highway — a comfortable two hours, and one of the better-connected routes in the region with buses running through the day. That makes the weekend classroom batch a realistic option if you want in-person teaching: one trip on Saturday, back Sunday evening.
Most Belgaum students, though, take the live online batch, particularly those from Nipani, Chikodi, Athani and the villages further out. It is the same live class, the same charts and the same mock exams, with recordings if you miss a session.
Language
Classes are taught in English, because the exam, the manuals and every chart you will ever code are in English and there is no benefit in insulating you from that. Where a concept is not landing, our trainers explain in Marathi. Belgaum students who are more comfortable in Kannada generally find this works fine — the technical vocabulary is English either way, and it is the coding logic that needs explaining, not the words.
Which batch to choose
- Belgaum city — weekend classroom batch if you want in-person teaching, otherwise live online
- Nipani and Chikodi — closer to Kolhapur than to Belgaum city; the weekend batch is easy from here
- Athani, Gokak and further out — live online is the practical choice
- Already working in a Belgaum hospital — evening online sessions fit around a shift
Placement for Belgaum students
Bengaluru is the natural first destination for Belagavi candidates and is the single largest medical coding employment market in India. Omega Healthcare and Vee Healthtek both have a substantial Bengaluru presence, and our students have joined both, along with GeBBS Healthcare, IKS Health and Cotiviti in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad.
Being a Karnataka candidate with Marathi and Kannada is a small but real advantage in Bengaluru interviews for team-facing roles later on. It will not get you the first job — the certification does that — but it helps once you are inside.

Belgaum questions
Are the classes taught in Kannada?
Teaching is in English, with Marathi used for explanation where it helps. The exam, the code manuals and every clinical note you will code are in English, so we do not insulate students from that. In practice Belgaum students manage this comfortably — the technical vocabulary is English regardless of the teaching language.
Do I need to come to Kolhapur at all?
No. The live online batch is complete in itself, including mock exams and placement support. Belgaum students who want classroom time usually take the weekend batch instead, which is one trip a week and about two hours each way.
Will the certification be recognised for jobs in Bengaluru?
Yes. CPC is awarded by AAPC and CCS by AHIMA — both are international credentials recognised by every major coding employer in India, and neither is tied to a state. A CPC earned through a Kolhapur institute is the same CPC as one earned anywhere else.
