AAPC credential

CPC — Certified Professional Coder

The credential named in most fresher medical coding job postings in India. If you are choosing one certification to start a career with, this is almost always it.

CPC covers the physician and outpatient side of coding: the work done for doctors' offices, ambulatory surgery centres and hospital outpatient departments. You learn to read a clinical note and assign the diagnosis codes that justify the treatment, the procedure codes that describe it, and the modifiers that explain the circumstances.

It is an open-book exam, which sounds forgiving and is not. Everyone in the hall has the same three manuals. The candidates who pass are the ones who can find a code in fifteen seconds instead of two minutes, and we spend real classroom time on exactly that skill.

Syllabus

  • Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, taught for coding rather than for exams
  • ICD-10-CM structure, conventions and official guidelines, chapter by chapter
  • CPT: surgery sections, radiology, pathology and laboratory, medicine, anaesthesia
  • HCPCS Level II — drugs, injections, supplies and durable medical equipment
  • Modifiers, bundling logic, NCCI edits and correct code sequencing
  • Evaluation and Management levelling under the current guidelines
  • Compliance, HIPAA, medical necessity and documentation improvement
  • Revenue cycle context — what happens to a claim after you code it
  • Manual tabbing workshop and the three-pass exam strategy
  • Full-length timed mock exams with question-by-question review
AHIMA credential

CCS — Certified Coding Specialist

The hospital-side credential. Harder, narrower, and generally attached to better-paying roles than entry-level outpatient coding.

CCS is built around inpatient facility coding, where a single admission can involve a dozen diagnoses, several procedures and a principal diagnosis decision that changes what the hospital is paid. That decision is what MS-DRG assignment turns on, and it is why experienced inpatient coders are valued the way they are.

The system you will spend most time in is ICD-10-PCS, which is a genuinely different discipline from CPT — seven characters built from root operations, body parts, approaches and devices rather than looked up from an index. It takes longer to learn, and far fewer coders in India have it.

Syllabus

  • Advanced anatomy, physiology and disease processes for inpatient records
  • ICD-10-CM applied to inpatient admissions, including comorbidities and complications
  • ICD-10-PCS in depth — root operations, body part values, approaches and devices
  • Principal diagnosis selection and the UHDDS definitions that govern it
  • MS-DRG assignment and the effect of CC and MCC capture on reimbursement
  • Present on Admission indicators and hospital-acquired conditions
  • Hospital outpatient and ambulatory surgery coding with CPT
  • Case-based practice on full inpatient records rather than short scenarios
  • Mock exams matched to the AHIMA format, including scenario questions

Not sure which one to take? Most students start with CPC because it opens the widest set of fresher roles, then add CCS once they are earning. If you are already working in a hospital or health information department, going straight to CCS can make more sense. Call us and we will talk it through against your actual background rather than sell you both.

Batch options

Four ways to take the same course. Students from Kolhapur mostly take a weekday batch; those travelling in from Sangli, Satara and Belgaum usually take weekend or online.

Weekday morning

Regular batch

Monday to Friday, roughly two hours a day at our Rajarampuri classroom. The fastest route to certification.

Weekday evening

Working professionals

After-work slots for candidates already in a pharmacy, lab or hospital job who are switching careers.

Saturday & Sunday

Weekend batch

Longer sessions across two days, built for outstation students who can make one trip to Kolhapur a week.

Live online

Online batch

Same trainer and same charts over live video, with recordings if you miss a session. No travel at all.

Placement support — included, not extra

A certificate nobody helps you use is an expensive piece of paper. Everything below is part of the course fee.

Resume built for coding recruiters

Healthcare BPO screening is keyword-driven and fast. We write your resume in the format their recruiters actually shortlist from, not a generic template.

Mock interviews with real questions

Coding interviews mix HR rounds with live chart tests. We run both, repeatedly, until you stop freezing on the technical round.

Direct referrals

We send profiles straight to recruiter contacts at GeBBS, IKS Health, Cotiviti, Omega Healthcare, Vee Healthtek and others hiring in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai.

Aptitude and English practice

Most large employers screen on basic aptitude and written English before you ever see a coding question. We drill both.

Relocation guidance

Practical help for a first job away from home — what to expect on shift patterns, accommodation, and what a fair offer looks like.

Support that does not expire

If the first interviews do not convert, you stay on our referral list. We keep sending you forward until you are placed.

What the fee includes

  • All classroom or live online sessions for the full course
  • Printed study material and practice question banks
  • Real de-identified chart sets for daily coding practice
  • Manual tabbing workshop and tab sets
  • Weekly assessments and full-length timed mock exams
  • Doubt-clearing sessions outside class hours
  • Complete placement support until you are placed
  • Guidance on booking your AAPC or AHIMA exam slot

What is charged separately

We would rather be clear about this upfront than surprise you later.

  • The AAPC or AHIMA exam fee, paid directly to the awarding body
  • AAPC or AHIMA membership, where the exam requires it
  • Official current-year code manuals, if you choose to buy your own set

We tell you the exact figure for each of these before you enrol, and current course fees are quoted over a call because exam voucher costs move with the calendar year.
